Members of the Local School Board (LSB) held a meeting on January 20, 2025, to comprehensively discuss preparations for the town’s hosting of the Samar Provincial Athletic Association (SPAA) Meet this year.

Led by representatives from the town’s two school districts, the meeting outlined the breakdown of plans and budgetary requirements for the SPAA Meet. The plan includes collaboration with counterparts from various units and mechanisms to address all the needs of the said activity.

The meeting also featured a presentation of accomplishment reports, particularly the utilization of the Special Education Fund (SEF) for 2024. According to the report, Php. 1,391,738.50, or 86.71% of the Php. 1,607,232.54 SEF allocation, was utilized. This utilization rate surpasses the requirement of the indicator set by the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for the education area.

The LSB meeting was attended by Mayor Felix Roma Panganoron, Municipal Administrator George G. Binas, and representatives from the town’s two school districts.
